Apple CarPlay is a standardized format that iPhone users see when they utilize the handshake provided by many radios these days. It allows you to use certain apps from your radio that have traditionally been subject to only your phone. This anomaly comes in wired and wireless options

Android Auto is similar to the Apple format, but offers more apps and works in a slide up and down as opposed to the left right of CarPlay
